ALBUM RELEASED: coloUrs and mayhem - Universe A

After a long wait, it’s finally out!!

The first of TWO albums featuring the winners of the Homestuck Music Contest. Darn, what a tour de force of talent!

Known issues:

- Iron Infidel makes a weird crackling sound at 1:53 when played on Bandcamp. As far as I can tell this is not present when the file is downloaded.
- While all great, the orchestral tracks are long and plentiful. If you’re not a fan… well, if you keep listening, you will be pleased.
- CANT STOP HEADBANGING WHEN LISTENING TO IRON KNIGHT, SORRY UNFIXABLE, SIMILAR PROBLEM WITH GROOVIN TO OLIVE ROGUE????
- Cigarette ashes do not burn red in version v2.01

Music Contest Update

I’ve been answering a lot of questions about the contest recently, and my answer to most of them is:

I don’t care, as long as you send me something awesome.

How to be awesome?

Good production.

Good composition.

Make it interesting.

Make it fit the character.

So My dad makes beautiful music but is too humble to admit he is amazing. I want to enter him in the Homestuck Music Contest to prove he is good at writing/composing songs and need your help to inspire him to enter!

The question is, who would you think this song would fit best?

Please reblog for support and opinions on the song itself it would mean a lot to him!

It’d be nice for my dad to hear some positive feedback on his music, he really deserves it!

Your father’s music is very good, and he would certainly have no problem placing in the contest. But I feel I have to make a broader announcement:

Repurposing a song that was created without Homestuck in mind and/or for a different album is contrary to the spirit of the contest. I don’t know if your father reads Homestuck - if he does, I would definitely suggest he choose a character and make a track for that purpose!
